It's been 44 years that you've been together
Through thick and thin and all sorts of weather.

Ever since you each said "With this wing I thee wed"
You've slept and awaken, both in the same bed (mostly)

Now your kids are both grown and left on their own
And you've paid off those debts (except for that house loan)

So, now it's time to rejoice and celebrate, too
Because you have not just one grand kid, but two!

You can be proud of yourselves, that you've made it this long
And know that with kids like this, you didn't do wrong.

You've been married 44 years, isn't that great!
But that's nothing really, just half way to 88.

So get out there to dance and celebrate, just you two
And know that all of us really do love you!
